Effective communication is the cornerstone of progress in any context, be it within teams, organizations, or relationships. The free exchange of ideas and transparency fosters understanding, even amidst disagreements. I recently watched the interview between Tucker Carlson and Vladimir Putin. Regardless of one's stance on the discussed policies, engaging in dialogue with influential world leaders holds immense value.
What troubled me was the preemptive backlash the interview faced before its airing, with some going as far as attempting to restrict access to it. This begs the question: Why stifle dialogue?
Even now, days after the interview many people are still at odds with the leader. And if some of the recent news reports are true, then maybe the demonization is probably appropriate. Let the truth win!
In this podcast, however, I address a broader issue prevalent in various aspects of life and business. Join me as I explore the importance of #communication #transparency and #leadership and decide whether the principles I advocate for deserve consideration. #tuckercarlson #greatnesswithin

Here's the problem: no matter how much 'self-improvement' you make, it only partially satisfies your highest ambitions of happiness and leadership effectiveness. |

There is a common behavior that destroys culture, trust, and performance. It happens more often than you think. Have you participated in this behavior? Have you been the recipient of such behavior? What is it? "If you don't have something good or productive to say, don't say anything at all." That's not to say that candor and openness should be eliminated, or important information withheld that could help the team succeed. It means eliminating "gossip" and "slamming" employees or teammates BEHIND their backs. Take complaints or constructive feedback to that person directly. Be real. Achieve your greatness through capitalism. Harness the power of capitalism? As a business owner for over 25 years and helping people succeed - I have some thoughts on capitalism. I share this message, at this time, because of the increased political conversation in some groups against capitalism and toward socialism. With freedom and capitalism, along with a mix of desire, strategy, and execution…you, can make your dreams come true! Be an entrepreneur. Create a product and a service that serves people, and you will win! The Free Enterprise System or Capitalism has created more abundance in more people's lives than any other economic system! CAPITALISM provides more OPPORTUNITY than SOCIALISM. The key is thinking big and taking action. Be GREAT! |

If you are seeking happiness through "self-love" alone, you might be disappointed. Self-love is a new, trendy phrase that typically has to do with self-worth, self-esteem, compassion for self, fulfillment, confidence, and happiness, and I agree that each one is important. However, when "self-love" becomes all about "ME," happiness will be stifled. If you want more love, then GIVE IT AWAY. Happy people seem to be those who recognize their greatness and understand that sharing it by lifting others is a sign of TRUE GREATNESS and a source of TRUE HAPPINESS!

There are two types of people in life: 1) those who wait for evidence that their goals will work before they take the first step, and 2) those who rely on the evidence of their faith. If I had waited for the evidence that I "could" write books, I probably would have never written one—let alone four. One of the mysteries of life is trusting that one's efforts will pay off, while ignoring the momentary or repeated setbacks. Achieving goals takes patience and faith in one's ideas. Don't wait for evidence before you start taking action. Start by taking action, and the answers will unfold before your eyes. Trust the unknown. Trust the process. Take actions toward living your dreams starting today! |

The one critical factor that separates the high achiever from the low achiever is 'demanding the best from yourself.' In my book, “If You Think You Can!," this is Law #2. Like Michael Jordan and Elton John, demanding greatness from yourself is a key principle when it comes to success. Where do you need to give more than you currently do? Where do you coast when you should be hustling? What 'fundamentals' do you need to review again and again to maintain the competitive edge? Watch YouTube video: https://youtu.be/SZ2DX0gU49c |

Recently, my oldest son who is serving a mission in Romania for two years asked me this question: “How can a person increase their determination?" So, in response to his question here are a few thoughts I had while driving between clients. (Please pardon the audio quality.) I come up with five important steps, nestled with a dozen other principles, which are necessary for increasing determination. Principle number one is to have vision and purpose. Where there is a vision, there is no “have to," there is “want to." With vision, discipline comes easy. Without vision, discipline is a struggle. Put your focus on to an exciting end goal that you are committed to moving toward and then fully commit yourself to achieving it. Discover the next four principles for increasing determination. I hope you enjoy it! |
